Im increasingly frustrated with the industry I work in. Is it Cp…something or brand uplift? Is social about helping connections and enabling companies to make better products or shoehorning drab brands and crap products into adverts in the hope someone will click on them?

 You are more likely to catch a rare desease – 6 to 8% in European population – than you are to ever click on an online advert. Industry average 0.04 for leaders and 0.12% for MPU’s. So why have social media sites gone down this display route? I suggest we look at native, instinctive, obvious placements on sites and dont call them or use them as adverts put as promotion areas. I’d even use this for commerce sites. All that needs to happen is to upgrade the data collection and back ends, linking these to your social network, thus making your site more personnalised and boosting your tunrover.  

Just a suggestion but one that Ill be writing about a lot int he near future…
